Max and Jen got home from Tucson on Saturday night. Max couldn't wait to go play in the snow at Grandma's house on Sunday.

This Christmas was great. We didn't take as many pictures as in years past because we were always doing things and forgot to take the camera out.

Wow, that's a lot of snow! We got around two feet of snow over thirty-six hours. It was a lot of fun to keep up with the estimates for how much snow we'd get, and watch the cars get buried (evidence within). We let Mac go out and play for a while with the twins from next door. He loved it and refused to go in until we dragged him and his pink cheeks inside to warm up.

Max had a rough day. Jen dragged him all over, and the poor kid just couldn't stay awake any longer. Jen found him sacked out on the couch and couldn't resist taking pictures to document a rare afternoon MaxNap.

Spring sprung for a day. It made my nose run and my head swell. It made the neighborhood kids crazy with the joy of running around in shorts. The bubbles didn't help quell the craziness. And aa-aall while I slaved away indoors at work.

Max's Grandpa Brian is out from Tucson for an Easter visit. Being the good grandparent that he is, he's doing his best to spoil my son. He's succeeding. We went to Toys R' Us this morning and left with a classic Radio Flyer tricycle (almost the same kind I rode down a hill at breakneck speed as a child and smash my face on the concrete... maybe this wasn't such a good idea). Brian and I (ok, mostly Brian - I played Igor) put it together this afternoon and Max got to take it for a spin.

Taking 190 pictures at the aquarium wasn't enough. I was sitting across from Max, who was extremely happy, hyper and preternatually cute. I couldn't resist sitting the camera on the table and snapping a few shots during lunch.

What a photographic disaster this trip was. We went to the Baltimore Aquarium and since Max was feeling a little claustrophobic, I decided to try to take as many pictures of the fish as I could. Unfortunately, the aquarium is really dark, and any flashes end up back in your face. So, the flash was off, and I can't change the exposure time on my digital camera. So, 60 of the 200 pics I took were black, and the other half were either unintelligible blurs or dark brown masses. Here are the rest (and they're not all that great either).

It was a church thing. A guy in my dad's foursome bailed, and he called on me to fill in. I haven't golfed in almost 12 years. It was a best ball scramble, so I got to mooch off the two good golfers in our foursome. The other guy - this was his first time golfing! He contributed some great putts and a couple really nice drives. Here are the Kevin highlights:
- I sank a forty-foot putt, with a generous left to right break
- I sank two other pretty long putts for birdies
- I had one gigantic 240-yard drive right down the middle of the fairway
- I was surprisingly consistent for having not played. In the middle of the round, I was consistently making contact, even if the direction was a little wild
- I did swell putting. Really swell.

Uncle Steve's digital camera is dying, and the colors are pretty funny. These pictures were taken from his camera and then mucked about with in PhotoShop.

My parents bought a new car (no, not this one). It's in the shop, so the BMW dealer let them borrow a brand new Z4. Oh yeah. Mom took Max for a ride last night, and here's the photographic proof that a love of fast cars runs in the family.

I went to the Bay Area for work and had a great time. I got to hang out with my brother, see some art, see an
old friend I hadn't seen in years and eat some good food. I also caught the world's most antagonistic cold, hence the lack of description on the pics. You figure it out.

My sister and I went to the Howard Dean "Sleepless Summer Tour" rally in Falls Church and had a great time. Because of Heather's missing toe and foot problems, we got to sit in the handicapped section, which gave us a great view from the side of the stage.

The day before Max's first day of school, we went out for a special lunch, went shopping for a new school outfit and then to get a haircut. Here's the evidence.

Max is in pre-school!!! How freaky is that? He had a great time and is looking forward to going again. He's so grown up now... and he's not even four yet.

We went apple-picking at Crooked Run Orchard in Purcellville. A good time was had by all (ok, both of us).

This was our last full day in Dublin, and our only day to really spend all day being tourists. In the morning, we went shopping in the City Centre on Grafton and Powerscourt, and then took the commuter train (the DART) to Dalkey, where the rich Dubliners live. Now, we're exhausted and ready to go home.

It was busy. It's not done yet. Did we have fun anyway? Oh yes...

Before lunch, I decided to take a walk up to the Chateau and see what there was to see. I walked around the outside of it, and here are the results.

I woke up way too early (3am), spent four hours unpacking, watching CNN, eating swedish fish. Then, ate a wonderful breakfast right at 7, and then wandered around town. I walked to Cannes, halfway back and down the river a little, and then back to the hotel to warm up. It was cold and rainy, and well, here are the pictures.

It snowed... at the beach. See for yourself.

I'm not going to describe all of these. The Plenary is the big day where all the groups get together and sit through presentations from other groups on a bunch of different topics. Good stuff... and lots of room for cutting up in IRC.

After lunch today, Beth, Kimberly and I went on a walk into La Napoule. It's a cute little town, as you can see.

Beth, Kimberley and I went to the La Napoule Art Foundation on Friday and took the tour. If you're ever in the area, you should too.

I had some time between breakfast and the taxi to the airport, so I took some pictures. I even took some on the way to the airport. Have digital camera, will take lots of crap pictures whenever possible.

We have pictures of Max wearing the same happy nightgown and laying on the same smiley blanket. We figured we'd start a tradtion. The rest of them are from his first bath. Ok, it wasn't really a bath. It was a spongebath... after the growth on his belly button falls off, we can give him a REAL bath.

Max and I went down to the creek behind our house for a rock splashing competition. Max won.

Brian is getting big!! No other commentary needed, except that he's too cute for words and smells like baby. There's nothing better.

Brian's getting bigger, and more expressive, isn't he? It's hard to pose him still, so I snap pics from time to time right after changing his drawers.
(13 images)
We gave Brian a bath and forgot to brush his hair afterwards... much hilarity ensued. The boy is photogenic, even with crazy hair.
