2003.09.27 Max's Fourth Birthday Party

Max's fourth birthday party was a blast. This was the "chuck stuff through the hoop" game.
Max excels at chucking things through hoops.
My sister, the documentarian.
Max, running back to chuck more things.
"No, Max, we chuck things THROUGH hoops, not AT Mary!" (he didn't really do anything like that... I promise)
Kiddy Golf, the most fun you can have with a bag and club.
"Daddy, look, I'm you in the morning!" Honestly, I have no idea what this face is. He didn't pass out once.
Max, asking a very serious question about club selection for his next shot.
Max, do his best to rush the ball so it has no idea what's coming. Not sure it's the best approach, but the ingenuity is to be applauded.
That's one hell of a rough... good luck, kid.
Like I said, good luck.
My mother is the Machiavelli of children's games. This is the "little birdy" game. You put a gummy worm at the bottom of a bowl of Rice Krispies and let the kids go to town and try to fish the worm out of the bowl with their mouse and nose. It's hilarious, as you'll see...
They were really into it.
My mom had to show Max how to do it. I think Max knew how to do it, he just wanted to see Gramma up to her glasses in cereal.
Max was a little tentative, but soon discovered the trick to finding the worm... nosing the cereal out of the bowl.
The other kids resorted to eating their way through the cereal.
Not too keen on Rice Krispies.
Max, showing off his carbunkled tongue.
I think Max found his worm first - at least, that's the story I'm telling you.
Caught him in the corner when he wasn't expectin' it.
"I am so freakin' tired of Rice Krispies!"
"But the worm is tasty."
Max runs...
Ahhh, the donut game. Try to eat a donut dangling from a string without using your hands. GREAT game.
"Wait, I can't use my hands? But, they're donuts!! Do you know how much I LOVE little white donuts??!!"
But, of course, Max jumped right in and got to business.
"Mmmmm, little white donut..."
The kids all agreed that there was nothing hanging from Mary's nose.
"Too many little white donuts and Rice Krispies... I hope the next game is Bobbing for Tums."
Max is a little tycoon. We've played two dozen games of Monopoly Junior since Saturday night.
"I don't see any little white donuts... what a gip."
The feeding frenzy was brutal...
"See dad, Odysseus was tied to the mast like this... see?"
"Boy, I wish I had a birthday party every day. Can we do this tomorrow too?"
At this point, Max was a little overwhelmed and needed a little support.
