2004.02.28 The Morning Walk
I woke up way too early (3am), spent four hours unpacking, watching CNN, eating swedish fish. Then, ate a wonderful breakfast right at 7, and then wandered around town. I walked to Cannes, halfway back and down the river a little, and then back to the hotel to warm up. It was cold and rainy, and well, here are the pictures.
This is my hotel. It doesn't have broadband, but it's very nice otherwise.
I'm not sure why I went for a walk after breakfast, but I did. It was cold and drizzling, but out I went, looking for a "hypermarche" or "agent de presse". I came back empty-handed except for these pictures.
This is a river... it leads to the ocean, but this way, it doesn't. It leads somewhere else (like to the head of the river).
And here is the mouth of the river, with the rain in the distance.
At this point, if I were smart, I would have gone back to the hotel. But, I'm not, so I walked to Cannes.
This is a pay toilet. I didn't go inside, or I would have a picture of it.
This is the hotel where the conference is being held.
This is the view from my window. Cool, huh?
This is the second half of the view from my window. Yes, I have a two frame window!! I love this place. If it weren't so freakin' expensive, and if I could speak the language, I'd like move here or something.
