Out in New Mexico, the cicadas have an oscillating bray - reeeer-reeeer-reeeer-reeeer-reeeer. In Texas they have a steady screech - gzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I used to think the New Mexico cicadas were annoying. Then I moved to Texas.
