Church

My mom asked if I was just blowing off steam when I blogged last week about the church. While that was part of it (writing is cathartic), I am also serious about this. I understand the church’s position on preaching out against gay marriage, but to enact a law? That is just wrong. Not only does it go against the idea of ‘Separation of Church and State,’ it also goes against the church’s 11th Article of Faith: We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.\
After every change within the church, members have fallen away, unable to accept the change. This may be true of me now.

  1. I don’t want to comment on the deep and serious topic, but instead I just like that you go from that to dark chocolate M&M’s in the very next post. I’m deeply concerned and craving chocolate at the same time. Hmmm.

  2. Where do you draw the line? At what point is it too much and you have to say “no more”? The question goes for both you and the church. Can you draw the line for yourself but not allow the church to do the same? Have the laws of man ever imposed or attemted to superseed the laws of God? Most definately. Will God ever ask us to reject or thwart the laws of man? I think he has done so and will continue doing so.
I did not post this message to attack you, I just wanted to ask the questions to see if there is any merit for you in them.
    I wish you the best.
