I read this yesterday and had a very patriotic moment myself. Obama is channeling his inner Lincoln.
I enjoyed the history lesson, especially the Greek and Roman era insights. Obama’s “based on principles and values” point is the key to common understanding. We may not agree to how politics influences decisions in governing, but as long as we operate on solid principles and values, we will be consistent and “by the people” governed.
