This is my blog. It’s been around since 2000 and it’s hibernated more than once.

I'm a web developer (software engineer, whatever) and it's pretty difficult to pin down exactly when I became a "professional" one. I think I was first paid to do web development in 1997 by the owner of my local comic book shop who wanted to sell some toys, so I put together a catalog with photos. I think I was paid in store credit, which almost paid for my weekly habit.

I got the got title "Interactive Media Developer" and was the first web developer in my group at AOL in January of 1999. Yep, I worked there back when that name meant something. You know what, this is all on my LinkedIn, which is easy to find. Hell, most things about me are easy to find. I've been online a very long time, and this page probably isn't really going to tell the whole story, so I'm going to stop here.

I'm writing this about page in January of 2026 when I moved my blog from Wordpress to Eleventy, which has been about the most fun I've had at the computer since a friend showed me how to view source in Netscape 2.0 beta in 1995.

This site, and me, even after all this time, is a work in progress. Take a wander and say hi. I mostly hang out on the Fediverse these days. I also have a list of links on my omg.lol profile - if you need a cute place to call home on the internet, omg.lol is really great.
