  • Playing at the Park

I didn’t have to work today (thankfully) and it was lovely, so we took the kids to the park! They had a ton of fun, and I had a ton of fun taking pictures of them having fun. The rest are up up on Flickr, but here are a couple of my favorites:

  • Calvin and Hobbes

    Show Me Your "Tiger" Face

The boys were the illustrious Calvin and Hobbes for Halloween this year (Max’s idea). Max was actually dual costumed, being both Calvin (seen here) and Spaceman Spiff. Lots and lots of pictures are over here. Brian totally dug Halloween and lasted much longer than Max when it came to trick-or-treating. His bucket came back full and then he hung out with us on the step stealing candy from his Aunt Heather and trying to blow out the candles in the jack-o-lanterns. Fun was had by all.

  • Vast Tracts of Time

I have so much vacation time that I haven’t used (I’ve taken a grand total of four days of vacation time all year), that I have to take off a huge chunk at the end of the year. How much time? My last day of work for 2006 is December eighth.\
I’m sure Jen will find stuff for me to do, but I’m looking at the calendar at those vast tracts of time and thinking that I might just have time to finish my “class project” (my “hey, let’s learn Ruby on Rails project) and launch it.

  • Contest

Vote for #8 for a friend of a friend: Flying Spaghetti Monster contest. Yea, I got hella cool friends.

  • WOWee

Kevin came home at a decent time last night and we ate dinner all together. Later, Kevin and I sat together for over an hour while we watched tv. Baby, life is good.

  • They keeled him

Kevin came home. And then shortly became dead to the world for over 12 hours.\
I guess the thought of Supernatural was too much for him.\
Now I have to sing all by myself. “Wheel in the sky keeps on turning…”

  • Kevin!

My husband comes home today! Yippeee! And there is a new Supernatural episode on tonight! Yippeee! And Max has been cleared of all breathing/lung/pneumonia/coughing problems! Yippeee! And I am going out to lunch today. Yippeee! Did I mention that my husband is coming home tonight? Yippeee! And he will probably be willing to watch Supernatural with me. Super yippeee!\
It is ok that NONE of you commented on my awesome link in my previous post. Really, I don’t need validation for the effort I put into this blog. Really, I don’t. I am fine. Just keep reading and not leaving comments. It’ll be ok. No skin off my nose…

  • I Could Use Some Good News

Is there anything that doesn’t suck right now? I mean, really… anything. The bad news keeps piling up, and I’m looking for some hope in here, and it’s either not there, or it’s buried under enough bad that digging for it doesn’t really feel worth it.

  • VM conference

Someone cooler than me posted a recap of the Veronica Mars conference I participated in. Brownie points and bragging rights for the first person to identify my question!\
Here is a quote from Rob: The first episode is Veronica Mars for beginners. The case is pretty straight ahead and used to largely introduce us to the new characters. I’ve tried to really front load the episodes with fun breezy banter, that would play nicely with the Gilmore Girls audience, sort of inviting them into the show. It starts feeling more like our show in the final five minutes. The second episode which ranks with some of our best ever, is Veronica Mars at its best.\
See, he made it easy for you guys to catch up with Veronica Mars. And the episode does a great job of introducing characters to the new audience without long expositions. Thumbs up for Rob on that aspect.
