It’s beginning to look a lot like… it always does.

I stole this from Aunt Margie:

You Are a Minimal Christmas Tree

\
You’re not a total Scrooge, but you feel no need to go overboard at Christmas.\
Less is more, and your Christmas reflects refined quality.

This is totally me!! I love the family, friends, and food aspect of Christmas, but hate the the stress of gifts and the work of temporarily redecorating. Grabbing my family and going somewhere fun, like Hawaii, would be way more enjoyable than sitting at home and watching The Sound of Music for the 59th time.\
Kevin and I have only had one full-sized tree since we’ve become parents. Oopsie! Since we are traveling again this year, in addition to having work done on the house, I doubt we will put the tree up. I am so bad at Christmas that my mother-in-law once stuck a wreath on my front door because she knew I never would. I have been thinking about buying a lit-up village-surrounded-by-a-train-thingy, so maybe I am finally coming around.

I’m stealing the Cheers and Jeers idea

Cheers to this awesome \$30 rug. \$30!! I couldn’t believe the price and it looks fabulous in my house. I am sort of afraid to use it though, because the kids are only going to mess it up. I have actually been thinking about getting a second one as a backup.\
Cheers to the Redskins for winning. I am really surprised they did so though.\
Jeers to Loudoun County Parks and Rec. I’ve been miffed at them ever since the receptionist gave me false information which made me miss out on registering Brian for preschool. Today’s Jeer however is because their online registration system is showing classes from 2 years ago. For about 45 minutes, I was so excited to find a preschool opening… until I realized it was from 2005.

Happy Weekend!

Our weekend is going to be fabulous and I hope yours is too!\
Friday night started off with a bang when Kevin had an impromptu Happy Hour to go to after work. He decided to take Max with him because he is Max’s ride home from camp. Since this was obviously a low-key thing, Brian and I crashed too! There was another kidlet there, Clara, age 13 months, that Brian could not stop staring at. While she was walking around after dinner, working off some energy, Brian kept his eyes glued to her. When she went behind a booth where Brian couldn’t see her, he would constantly scan the area waiting for her reappearance. It was adorable. Brian didn’t say a single word to her though, but did wave when she left.\
Saturday is going to be full of swimming for the boys. Max is going to try the big slide and is very excited about it! I am going to continue clearing out the basement in preparation for the remodel. (I finally got the last estimate. Woot. Now the hard part comes.) Hopefully swimming won’t totally kill Kevin like last week’s trek to Down Pour, the water park at Algonkian Park, did. I’d like him to be able to unwind and/or do some work around the house, too.\
Sunday is going to be all about the Dim Sum and Cindy! Maybe I can talk Kevin into doing something else downtown-y while we’re there. Any suggestions?\
Ooh, today while grocery shopping, I totally spied some peach ice cream and had to buy it in honor of Aunt Margie. It was only a pint and on sale, so triple win! YUM!

Annoyed

I am tired of CNN having some reports only available through a video clip. What if I want to read about the damn thing, which is, you know, why I am on the computer and not freaking watching the tv show. Grrr. I get the appeal of video clips, but it should be a second option, not the only one. Arggg.

Bad Mommy #894

This morning I forgot to feed Brian breakfast! He doesn’t like to eat when he wakes up, he prefers brunch. I recently started trying to accommodate him. This morning though, I just went about my errands and totally forgot about his new eating schedule. While shopping, he started randomly crying, then stopping, then crying, then stopping but he wouldn’t tell me what was wrong. I finally figured out why and we hurried our butts home! At 11:45, when he finally got to eat, he just sat quietly and went to town. Heh.\
I found orange Cadbury cream eggs at Wegmans. Happy Day! You should all run over there and buy some. They are 2 for \$1, so you can try one and give one to someone you love.\
I also found Sprite Zero in cans. Double Happy Day!\
The dishes are done, the laundry is under control, and dinner is simmering on the stove. Triple Happy Day!
