Happy Friday!

FYI, Kevin forgot his sidekick at home. It keeps growling at me every 2 minutes when he gets a new message. I don’t like the buzz feature. Mm, I guess it’s actually called vibrate. But whatever. It sounds more like a buzz.\
Today is the second unnecessary snow day in a row. Booo. But I totally got to sleep in until 10 am, so YAY! My van is stuck behind a huge ice wall still, so while I am out and about tomorrow, I am totally taking the Volvo. Oh, yea. :)\
TV was awesome last night. I laughed so hard during Supernatural I couldn’t breathe.\
Kevin bought me an iHome, which is an iPod speaker and alarm clock thingie for our room. I have been playing on iTunes ever since, making new playlists. I could have one for everyday of the week! Yippee. Monday’s would be Manic Monday on repeat for 10 times. Tuesday has Veronica Mars, so the playlist would feature something from the show. Wednesdays would HAVE to include My Humps, of course. Hmm, what would Thursday’s contain? Friday would be super happy music, starting with Friday I’m in Love. I am actually in love everyday of teh week, but that song is a Friday classic. Saturday would have something jazzy and nice, something pilfered from Kevin. Sunday would be mellow and calm, but not overly emo. Poor Thursday is still empty. I must think on it.\
Happy Weekend everyone!\
ETA- Eh, I am over the weekdays’ playlist idea already. Though I have been enjoying Tegan and Sara’s Monday, Monday, Monday today.

Happy Valentine’s Day

I hope your day is filled with lots of chocolate and kisses!\
We are having a white Valentine’s Day, which is kinda cool. It would be neater if Kevin and I were at a romantic, mountain retreat. But, I’ll take what I can get.\
Poor Kevin couldn’t get his car out of the parking spot, so he is valiantly working at home. Not even simply pretending to work, but actually working. Such a good boy.

Good News! (Mostly)

Brian was much perkier this morning. His eyes were open most of the way, whereas yesterday they were only open a sliver. His fever broke sometime in the night, too. YAY! He is still sick, but he played with a toy and only slept at nap time.\
Ooooo, cute story from yesterday. So we’re driving along, poor sicko Brian in his carseat, his puffy, swollen eyes barely open and suddenly he lifts his arm. After a minute I realized he was playing the road trip game we played on the way to Mississippi where we’d lift our arm when we went over bridges. Even totally sick and worn out, with his eyes barely open, Brian saw that we were going over a bridge so he lifted his arm. We played all the way to the hospital and all the way home. It made my heart smile.\
We went back to the doctor today. Brian has something going on in his upper right lung, so the doctor put him on oral antibiotics, his ear infection looks worse, and he is a little dehydrated. We have a follow-up on Friday. I am really thankful I don’t work. I am not sure how working parents do it. As it was, Kevin had to work from home so he’d be here when Max got home because the dr’s appointments have been interfering with bus-drop-off time.\
In case you missed it in all the above wordiness, the good news is that Brian is getting better!\
Also, more good news:\

I love this picture. Brian sat at the top, eyeing the height carefully before he decided to go for it. This is him right before he flew off the end of the slide and onto his butt. Thankfully, the diaper took the brunt, and Brian hopped (well, I think he might have skipped one and landed on his feet) right back up and headed for another trip. My hand is only in the shot because I was trying to catch him… but I’m slow.

I’m baaaaaack.

Kevin is messing around with lawver.net, which means I can’t blog on my own. Everything has to go through him now, until he is done “fixing” it. This is why I haven’t blogged in awhile. I cry foul and censorship! I know you all are dying to know what I think about the Haggard scandal, the upcoming election, the botched Kerry joke, and especially the latest Veronica Mars and Supernatural. But, well, too bad. Blame Kevin. (eta- he fixed the blog!) Today I will blog about nothing important, which is kind of appropriate given my chosen topic.\
I am the worst kind of procrastinator. When I procrastinate, I usually don’t just do nothing. I end up doing unimportant (relative to my ‘to do’ list) things, which leaves me too tired to tackle the real list. This morning I have errands, dishes, and laundry waiting for me. But instead, I busied myself rearranging the living room slightly and moving things out that don’t belong. In high school when I wanted to avoid homework, I would clean my room and when I wanted to avoid cleaning my room, I would do homework. There are a million toys that need to be picked up from the dining room but I think I will go organize my pantry instead. Toodles!\
ETA- I received two more definitions for my favorite new unword, “provolactic.”\
Aunt Margie, showing her PA heritage, claims it is the lack of provolone cheese in the fridge thus preventing the making of a homemade Italian Hoagie. I bet she would be really jealous to know that I found authentic sweet peppers for hoagies at my local grocery store. It only took 6 years, but they’ve finally arrived in Sterling!\
Tim thinks it is the position, or a person favoring the position, that cows should be given the right of choice, or volition, as to what happens with their milk. Closely related to vegans.

Reunion fun!

Hey, remember when I complained in a previous post about Logan H. on Gilmore Girls not having any interesting scenes since he is only shown on the phone? Well, guess what? Complaining works! The actor who plays Logan H. will guest star on Veronica Mars tonight. Wheeeee. The TV Guide and other tv-focused peeps made a big deal a few years ago when the Gilmore Girls introduced Logan H. and Logan from Veronica Mars made a big splash at the same time. There were lots of comparisons and articles about them. I guess TPTB took note, because they finally got the Logans working together. Kinda cool, imo.\
Laura San Giacome, from Just Shoot Me, will also be on tonight’s Veronica Mars. And HEY! Enrico Colantoni (Keith) also starred on Just Shoot Me. They played friends-turned-lovers. It’ll be neat to see them working together again. I love Enrico.\
In other TV news, Kevin loved the premiere of Torchwood. I haven’t had a chance to watch it yet.\
I am currently watching last night’s MNF game. I tivoed it because I knew I wouldn’t be able to stay up late enough. (YAY for tivo.) Even though I accidentally spoiled myself of the outcome this morning, the game is still pretty interesting.

Bad Mommy #45

I am obviously the worst mother ever, since I can’t figure out to play Katamari for my 2 year old. The screen says click “X” for ok, and nothing happens when I do. I click “start” and “select” and nothing freakin’ happens!! Grrr. Oh, except Brian starts crying like I am stabbing a puppy over and over again. He keeps handing me the controller, “Here you go,” very hopefully. But I don’t know how to get it to work! GAH! I give up. Seriously. The smartest decision I ever made was to never play video games with Max. I am re-enacting this policy for Brian. And he can’t make me feel guilty! No, he can’t! I won’t cave. Even if he is the cutest, snotty-nosed, teary-eyed toddler ever.

Smiles Sheepishly

Soooooooooo, tonight’s Supernatural wasn’t quite up to the awesomeness that it had been exhibiting. Every show is allowed a down episode or two, right? (Remember “Beer bad?”) Sadly, there wasn’t even a cool ‘previously’ like usual. Poo!\
But, hey, there were some great one-liners and some awesome moments. A Duckie reference! Hee. “It’s your grief counselors! We’ve come to hug!” Ha! Walking in on your brother watching porn? “Awkward” and priceless. But, that scene has probably happened once a week to those two. Yay for the show being mostly realistic about boys and sex.\
For those who liked the episode- rock on! Cuz this show is seriously much much better than this one, so it’s like gravy for you. For those who didn’t like the episode- stick around! Cuz this show is seriously much much better than this one.

Oh, Damn.

I wish I had seen it: Cardinals choke, cuz I am evil that way. Instead, I was in bed by 7:30 nursing a headache the size of Mt Rushmore.\
This interview with Kristen Bell (from Veronica Mars) cracks me up, mostly because of the things she’s not saying and the new clarity on the things she’s been saying for years. She just won’t give up. Hee. And, hey, Veronica Mars is on tonight. Cool!
