Ex 1) Max has requested that his bedtime routine start earlier, so he can quietly read in bed for longer before lights out.\
Ex 2) Apparently, some people are upset that Rosie O’Donnell said that radical Christians are bad, bad like radical Muslims are bad, and killing innocent people is bad too and are demanding an apology. Seriously, who are these people?\
Ex 3) Wegman’s Ultimate Chocolate Cake is very bad. Shocking, I know. Thankfully the store was giving out samples, which I couldn’t even finish, so I didn’t have to pay for the nastiness.\
Ex 4) A church friend invited me to attend a meeting to discuss the Virginia Marriage Protection Amendment with community leaders “to maintain and strengthen the family as the fundamental unity of society.”\

Countries I’ve Visited, Because Tim Did It
Because Tim did it, I’ve done it too… and I’ve been more places than Tim. I guess it’s not fair that we went to most of the same places in Europe when we were kids. I’m protesting Portugal though… we didn’t go there as kids. When did you go to Portugal, Tim, when?

Ummm, I Work For Who?
Christine Herron blogged about our Microformats and API’s panel at Mashup Camp and only got one little thing wrong… I don’t work for Yahoo, never have. I work for AOL and am quite happy here. Maybe I need to get a tattoo…

Cletus’ Revenge
What’s Up?\
I went to Target this morning and got some clippers, because after two weeks of growth, I wasn’t using disposable razors to take care of it again. Cletus, among others, made an appearance. You’ve got the Porter, the Beefeater and of course, a couple Cletus.\
And when that was done and I properly shaved, I gave myself a haircut! I grabbed the number 3 guard and did the whole thing. Why? First, it’s summer. Second, I just didn’t want to have to deal with making an appointment and going to get it cut. The real reason? Simplicity. No more brushing, simple wash, dry and go. Simple is good. -
The Beard Is Back
I made it back from Edinburgh safe and sound, although I’m jet-lagged, and have airline sore throat to deal with. Because I forgot to take shaving cream with me on the trip, I have a two week bear going, and you know what that means… Cletus is comin’ back, and he might stick around for a little while!

Another Little Movie
Back at Easter, I got a little (shaky) movie of Brian laughing at the little flying disk he was playing with. Check it out if you want a laugh (and can put up with the awesome cameraman).

Just to Clarify
If you’re coming here from Digg, you may have the wrong idea about me. I’m not the “leader” of anything. I’m a contributor to the project and helped design the nerdy bits behind a lot of it. But, I’m not in charge of nothin’. I’m just a nerd who loves web standards (I designed the microformat behind the modules), and who hasn’t gotten enough sleep in the past two months to say more than that without doing irreparable to my employment status.\
Oh, and if you’re looking at I Am Alpha, that’s not the real thing. It’s just a place to test out modules. It’s not meant for consumers, and we periodically nuke the pages created there (especially when we roll out new code).\
The Paid Content article has a lot more detail about what’s coming and says more than I can right now.\
Stay tuned for more info. After we launch the real thing, I’ll be able to talk a lot more about it. -
